Citizen Appreciation Day

On August 15, 2017 the SPD thanked our community for their continuous support of our department and contributions that encourage us all year long by holding a BBQ with hot dogs, chips and drinks at Prairie Park. It was a fun family event that included showing what the inside of a police car looks like and how the officers use the car as a tool in their job every day car looks like and how the officers use the car as a tool in their job every day, the Sterling Police Department Explorers were on hand to do Child ID kits, Kid Kop – the robot was present making the kids smile, and Sergeant Hrycaj demonstrated how his K-9 partner, Glock, is incredibly effective at sniffing out the tiniest metal washer thrown into the grass, or taking down a bad guy on , the SPD explorers were on hand to do Child ID kits, Kid Kop- the robot was present making the kids smile, and Sgt Hrycaj demonstrated how his K9 partner, Glock , is incredibly effective at sniffing out the tiniest metal washer thrown into the grass, or taking down a bad guy on command.
